The measuring of flow rate is very difficult and it has various measuring methods for liquids, gases and vapors.
For configuring your flow rate metering as simple and quick as possible especially for LNGC - you can get the high accuracy and speedy measured results with GMB flowmeter system. Since GMB flowmeter system is the PLC based on the calculation module, it is the ideal solution to use GMB flowmeter system for the many application of measuring hydrocarbon gases or liquids.

And GMB flowmeter system can adopt any standardized international code that is currently used for calculating the flow rate. As there are many measuring methods drew by the type of flowmeter like vortex, orifice, pitot tube, etc. the appropriate calculation standard code should be selected.

Several standardized international codes are as bellow.

  • AGA and API : chapter 21 compliment
  • AGA 3 : orifice plate
  • AGA 7 / ISO9951 : rurbine meters
  • AGA 8 / ISO12213-2 : compressibility
Therefore the flexible GMB flowmeter system can meet your any requirements.
 
The values from individual sensors are calculated on GMB flowmeter system for compensation and what you want to determine is provided as mass or volume quantity of gases.
On account that any type of flowmeter can be applied to the GMB flowmeter system, the maximized flexibility is provided to you.
And GMB flowmeter system is configured with HMI as well that is designed to provide useful monitoring for customers.

For all of the results from flowmeter system is available to communicate with IAS through RS 485 MODBUS.

There are several measuring points of flow rate for LNGC. Generally GMB flowmeter system has the MPA or vortex type of flowmeter amongst many type of flowmeter. Each advantage of using them is as bellow.
 MPA (Multi Point Averaging Pitot Tube) type
  • More accurate than orifice, venturi and APT
  • Accuracy if discharge coefficient(Cd) is +/- 0.2% of rate within 12:1 range
  • Low permanent pressure loss
  • Highly resistant to mechanical vibration
  • Easy to install
 Vortex type
  • High measuring accuracy with wide rangeability
  • No moving parts or holes that can clog
  • High rangeability / turn down ratio
  • Possibility of using even dirty liquids

GMB flowmeter system uses multiple processors and has an integral floating point calculation unit which allows very high calculation speed and which permit high performance at the full loading of multiple runs.
The advantage of using GMB flowmeter is as bellow in compered with DCS.

  • I/O scan time : very fast (mil second)
  • Calculation time : fast
  • Accuracy : high

Scan time and calculation time is very important for flow accumulation. Because an error in calculation or sensing is increased as time goes on. Therefore DCS that has the longer processor time than GMB flowmeter system is inaccurate as time goes on.
